The smooth sounds of summer will fill the Barbican during this popular free festival. The penultimate song was a true ‘summers breeze’ version of J J Cale’s ‘Magnolia’ with beautiful guitar work from both the guys, then it was time to fire up the ‘Black Cadillac’ as the Band launched into their final song for the afternoon.Īll in all, it was a magical first outing for the Band and one which created some memorable moments to savour.The Ocean City Blues N Jazz Festival will be returning to the Parade on the Barbican from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 August 2021! The Crowd loved it and showed just how much as the number crescendoed to its end. Steve continued to light up the stage during the songs middle section with some very tasteful guitar work then Terry& Alan‘s joint question and answer groove caught everyone’s attention, rounded of by some jaw dropping percussion from Alan. The Crowd responded enthusiastically As ‘Gig Ready’ funked up the afternoon before the classic ‘Man Down’ brought them listening so intently to the songs ‘lost guitar hero’ references, you could hear a pin drop between Keith‘s vocals.īack into the groove with ‘Money in my pocket’ before the audience were treated to the guys trading licks off each other, as they cruised through ‘Seventh Son’ with that infectious, Santana/Latin feel to it. Keith, Alan, Terry and Harrywelcomed the sunshine back to the crowd as they kicked off with ‘Crank It Up’ which set the scene for the afternoon and as ‘Paper Cup’ followed, it drifted over the crowd suspended with beautiful harmonies.Īlan‘s Drums were the only Thunder present as first ‘The Wine’ then ‘Hoochie Coochie Man’ took centre stage soaking the audience with some sizzling’ Slide Guitar, Blues/Rock.

The boys one hour set included songs from the 2019 release ‘That’s The Vibe’ plus favourites from the Blue on Black and Blacktop Deluxe back catalogue and was so very well received. The Guys were delighted with the reception the Band got from the 300/400 audience who had braved the UK weather right over the weekend, to listen to some fine music.
